i can see why, using your african system of thinking, you will always ignore facts and just talk for the sake of it. we african face homelessness, food shortage.lack of school, illiterate population, nepotism.,colonial mentallity, the least developed continent on earth, bad leadership, tribalism.energy crisis, and what our minister, intectuals, leaders do is write documents upon documents, meeting upon meeting, articles upon articles, parade around in corruption, 90% of the citizen in africa given a chance will exodus out of the continent, selfish individualistic development, apartheid economy and you blame kofi wayo. kofi wayo talks facts and you as a typical african thinker will say what you say..
Even Jesus was branded a joker, traitor... Marcus Garvey was disregarded, mandela was called terrorist, luther king was killed. Malcolm X disrespected,Nkrumah was overthrown, so hey i dont blame you for your thought.
Never in the history of man has good men been honoured in their days, you love africa but you have a selfish way of showing it..

Rolled hand towels, well these could be used but how many can we provide for a big facility like a hotel? Moreover we know our pple have a lil' problem, how often wd these be washed? Not to talk about pple with long arms,i still think the disposable ones are better. As for conserving our forest,no prob coz these a recycled.

Naa. Most disposal paper towels are made from recycled paper. Not too bad for the green forests. The rolled hand towels are not bad but we will we be able to washed them at the very high temperatures (more energy required)? You need a very efficient service to use this system. I'm seeing less and less of them around these days. We can have driers that blow air at room temperature.

Oh ok,if that's what he was referring to then i guess he has a point.well the hotel restroom hand driers can be replaced with disposable hand towels like we use in the clinics that wont require any electricity
Yeah. Come to think of it, we don't really need the hand driers in our hotels do we? With the energy crisis now, the faithful heat will do the job within seconds.

I never said l wanted us to back to wearing thatched skirts. We can't just adopt every thing we see people in the temperate climates use.
He was refering to the hand driers we have in hotel washrooms not your hand held hair drier. I'm not going to go into the use of hair driers because our African ladies will never be satisfied with the hair God gave them. They have to straighten it and do everything under the sun to it trying to be more glamorous and be more acceptable in today's culture. We can have hand driers but not heated driers. This requires more energy. Most new commercial buildings in the west have shading devices even though our climate is much hotter than theirs we just won't use these techniques but rather use air conditioning. There are so many ways to keep our buildings cool and reduce our energy demand.

Yes, hand driers are really not the most suitable things for our climate. Neither is double glazing or curtain walling. If we copy everything from the west we will end up consuming more energy than we are at the moment. We need buildings that allow air to flow through them not buildings that require air conditioning all the time. We have a lot to learn.
